What Quizcam does
Quizcam is an iOS study app built around one idea: the fastest way to go from having notes to actively testing yourself on them. You snap a photo of handwritten notes or import a PDF, and Quizcam uses OCR and AI to generate multiple-choice quiz questions from your material in seconds.
No manual card creation. No typing. No formatting. Just your notes, and a ready-to-play quiz that tests you on exactly what you need to know.
After each quiz, you get instant feedback, a score breakdown, and a review mode that shows what you got wrong and why the correct answer is right. Retry until the material sticks.
Why we built it
Most students study by re-reading. It feels productive. But decades of cognitive science research show that re-reading is one of the least effective ways to build long-term memory. Active recall (testing yourself on material) is consistently 2–3x more effective for retention.
The problem has always been the gap between "I have notes" and "I'm testing myself on them." Creating flashcards or practice questions manually takes hours. ChatGPT requires typing and prompting. Pre-made question banks don't cover your specific material.
Quizcam closes that gap. Snap a photo, get a quiz. The whole process takes under a minute.
Who made Quizcam
Quizcam is an independent app developed and maintained by Julius Schröder, based in Hamburg, Germany. It is built for students in the US and English-speaking markets, with a focus on simplicity, speed, and a clean user experience.
